Is it a need to brand the country?

Is it really a need to brand the country? What will be the outcome of this? What are the things that we aim to achieve from this process? What will be the impact of branding the country. And what will be next? Branding the nation. Or perhaps it is now. Branding according to the New Oxford American Dictionary, cheapest 2nd Edition is an identifying mark burned on livestock or (esp. formerly) criminals or slaves with a branding iron.In this contexts branding is to identify the certain things about the country. Or to project certain ideas of what the country is?

Wally Olins (2000) chairman of the branding consultancy Saffron in London and Madrid, no rx warns that sometimes this idea of branding places is does work, pilule but the relationship between the product and place branding is by no means simple. While there may be similarities between product and place brands, “the idea of nation as a brand is a very big mistake’.

  2. Hi Phayung,

As I said in the comments I’ve sent to you in your flikr, I don’t mind if you want to put my photos in your research, as long as you credit me ( like put a note under the photos, saying where you get this picture from ) and no commercial use for my photo. All the photo in this blog is also under copyright.

I think it is unethical for you to use other people photo’s or stuff for your research or study if you don’t credit them. You can use it as long as you credit it, in your research. You can’t take stuff from other people blog and used it as it was yours. That not really honest isn’t it?

By the way what research are you doing? Let’s talk about it.

    Nurul
